Tandoori restaurant keeps food hot for NC foodies |
Residents of Wilmington, North Carolina, have a new restaurant to try out - Tandoori Bites offers up delicious, traditional Indian fare that is available a la carte or as part of a lunch buffet, according to StartNewsOnline.com.
T.J. Singh, owner of the restaurant, is from the northwest Indian state of Punjab, and his cooking reflects his heritage. His menu includes Punjab cuisine, including aloo tikki, which are friend potato patties and samosas, triangular pastries filled with vegetables.
There are also some lesser-known items offered up to patrons of the restaurant. Diners may order paneer pakora, which contains white, squeaky cheese deep-fried in chickpea batter. Though the portions may be on the smaller side, they are still filling, the news source reports.
Diners who don't want to taste too much chili can specify how spicy they would like their dishes to be. In addition, the establishment offers up plenty of jasmine rice to help cool foodies' pallets.
Whether one prefers spicy cuisine or something more tame, food experts know that Indian buffets typically feature fresh, steaming food. To keep food hot when it's being served buffet style, some chefs use wire chafing stands.
