Wire Chafers turn Wisconsin's Top Chef competition into buffet line - Keeping Food Hot Catering News

Cooking competitions have become increasingly popular in recent years, thanks largely to popular shows like Bobby Flay's Throw Down and Top Chef. This march, a collection of the finest cooks in eastern Wisconsin will descend upon the Palm Garden Ballroom at the Osthoff resort for the area's own personal Top Chef competition.

The event is a competitive exhibition of local chefs culinary skills that sees contestants preparing a main entrée working specifically off of a sparse list of ingredients and an entrée a meat chosen through a wildcard drawing. Similar to the larger competitions on the show that bares its name, the chef-testants will have to prepare their meal for a large assortment of people, serving their edible creations buffet style to event attendees.

 

Admission is $50 and proceeds from the event will go towards support for the Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities, a non-profit organization that helps provide therapy, medical treatment, equipment and supplies for special needs children in Sheboygan County.

 

Since keeping food hot is an important factor in the judging, chefs are recommended to use catering chafers to ensure that every plate going out from their serving station is as hot and juicy as the last.
