Michigan college students keep food hot at tailgate party |
New students at Saginaw Valley State University will have an opportunity to mingle with their classmates at the next home football game, which is slated to take place this weekend, according to The Valley Vangard.
For years students at the college have gathered together to amp up for games with a tailgating tradition. Students will meet in a parking lot near the stadium to share food while they cheer on their favorite team.
"Tailgating is just a part of the total college experience students can have here," Merry Jo Brandimore, vice president of student affairs at the university, told the news source. "It's a good way for students to interact with other students."
In addition to the opportunity to mingle, students will be able to win prizes and of course, watch their home team defend its turf.
Though the weather is still warm in most states, when cooking outside, food has a tendency to get cold after its been taken off the grill. Students at this event would be wise to invest in wire chafing stands to keep food hot until kickoff.
