Bing.com's National Tailgate Competition recently hit the home of the New York Jets, where four groups of tailgaters went head-to-head in a fun-filled competition. According to FootballReportersOnline.com, the teams included Franks Flagmen, Lenny's Lot K Tailgaters, Gang Green Grillers and the Winters Brothers. The tailgaters each had their own culinary specialties and turned out dishes such as cheese-stuffed burgers, shrimp, turkey legs, ribs, chicken and filet mignon. One team, the Winters Brothers, even named each of their dishes after a Jets player. Celebrity judges included actor Joe Piscopo, professional eater "Crazy Legs" Conte and former Jets player Wesley Walker. In addition to preparing a delicious tailgate spread, the teams competed in tailgating games, such as bean bag toss and a football throw, as well as a football-based trivia contest. In the end, the Winters Brothers took the title as the best tailgaters in New York. They will head to Dallas during Super Bowl week to compete against other winning teams from across the nation for the title of best tailgater in the country. Others who are organizing a tailgate party this football season should keep in mind that serve-yourself meals have a tendency to cool down quickly, and can dampen sports fans' spirits. To keep food hot throughout your get together, consider using wire chafing stands. |
