Keeping food hot on the cob |
Residents of Millersport, Ohio, will be heading to the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival, which will last throughout labor day weekend. Guests at the event will be treated to live music, marching bands, carnival rides and, of course, delicious corn on the cob.
The event began with the annual Sweet Corn Festival parade, which lasts for one hour. Other events that will place later in the weekend include corn-eating contests, tractor pulls and performances by country music stars David Frizzell and Darryl Worley.
One attendee confessed that she wasn't drawn to the festival just for the yellow vegetable. "We come for the doughnuts...they're so good," Jayme Weekley, a nearby resident, told the news source. "I think I've only had the corn once."
Weekly has been coming to the festival for the past 27 years, and this year she had the chance to bring her stepchildren for the first time.
Corn is an excellent side dish to any meal you may be serving this Labor Day. If you choose to throw a few cobs on the grill, then you may want to consider using wire chafing stands, which can keep food hot for hours.
